Long-Range Transportation Plan

The Jacksonville Urban Area Long Range Transportation Plan (LRTP) is a community-driven process that establishes a vision for mobility in the City of Jacksonville and portions of Onslow County. The LRTP establishes goals, identifies needs, sets investment priorities, and outlines an action plan for the future transportation system. The plan covers each way people and goods move within and through the Jacksonville area, including the street network, bicycle and pedestrian facilities, transit services, and freight movement. The overall goal of the LRTP is to improve mobility, accessibility and safety for people and goods.

The LRTP is a financially constrained plan, meaning it identifies projects and programs that can reasonably be funded and implemented within the years of the plan. The plan fulfills federal requirements and serves as the region's transportation vision.
